On Ubercart and E-Commerce, again

I am not a historian to be concerned by the past. All I have asked that these two teams of developers come out of their respective corners, come together and work on common APIs. I have been bombared by both teams pointing to each other. Do you know who behaves like that? Kids in kindergarten stating that the fight started with Tommy hitting back!

I am an Ubercart developer.
Short and sweet: NK, that is a great idea, but a lot of work. I (and the rest of the core Ubercart team) are already busy with other good ideas. Just let us know when you have some code to review.

As far as I know, neither the Ubercart or E-Commerce team is object to the idea of one shared API for payment and maybe shipping modules. We think it is a good idea, just not as critical as many other ideas we are working on. Besides, the shipping and payment API's for E-Commerce and Ubercart are similar enough that porting a payment module from one system to another is already pretty easy.

There are plenty of people including members of both development teams who like the idea of a shared API, but no one has the time to actually do it. I applaud anyone who is willing to take responsibility for this task and write some code. If you are not ready to do the work, I recommend avoiding rhetoric and inflammatory comments as they will only serve to divide our great Drupal community.
Peace,
